Introducing Lyon

Lyon is the capital of the Rhône-Alpes region and of the Rhône department and is located at the confluence of the Rhône and Sâone rivers.  It has become a large European metropolis, due to its location between northern and southern Europe which facilitates communication.

It was declared a World Heritage for Humanity site by UNESCO and offers a strong link between  its past, with its major monuments, and its promising future, justified by its dynamism.

With 1.3 million inhabitants, and the 2nd largest city in France, the urban community of Lyon is a true European health and research pole thanks to University Claude Bernard Lyon 1, its C.H.U. (Hospital center) and the Lyon Hospices.
